How does hosting work?

Once you have your website, it needs to live somewhere out on the internet – this is called hosting. Hosting is an additional cost that you pay to a hosting provider. Costs can start as little as $3.99 per month with a 2 year commitment. Or for slightly higher costs, you can pay monthly. We’ll arrange your hosting for you but you will own the account and be responsible for making payments directly to the hosting provider. When we sit down to discuss your needs, we can help you choose the hosting plan that is right for you.

What maintenance plans do you offer and how much do they cost?

We offer monthly maintenance plans starting at $9.99 a month. These are optional plans that cover 1 free website update per month and all website security updates.

Do I need my own domain?

Yes. A domain is your unique address on the internet and how your clients will find you. If you do not already own a domain, we can guide you through the process of purchasing one. Cost will depend on the domain name you choose but we do not charge extra for assisting you in this process. On the other hand if you already have a domain, we can use that domain for your website.

What about Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

Your website will be built with SEO in mind. Meaning it is fully ready to be part of a broader campaign to help get your site listed on Google search results. However we currently do not offer SEO services at this time. By focusing on website builds we feel we can offer the best product at a competitive price.

Are there any long term contracts or commitments?

Not for your website – it is fully yours. But domain and hosting purchases typically offer 1-3 year commitments. Since a domain is an important part of your business, we do recommend you see this as a long term commitment. For hosting you can choose to go monthly or with a 1-2 year commitment. There are generous cost savings by going with a yearly commitment as opposed to monthly. Don’t worry if all of this sounds complicated as we will guide you through the process of purchasing your domain and hosting.

What if I don’t see a template that is a perfect fit for me?

We can customize any of our templates to better suit your needs. When we meet to discuss your vision for your website we’ll match the template closest to your needs and tailor it to fit.

How do I update my website afterwards?

For those with the desire to do so, we can train you on how to perform minor content updates to your website yourself.

In all other cases you may reach out to us with update requests. For those on a maintenance plan, you get one free content update per month. For those not on a maintenance plan, you get three free content updates in your first year. After that updates are billed at an hourly rate. Please reach out to us for the current hourly rate.

Keep in mind that the site we build is yours forever so even if you decide to take your business elsewhere (we dont think you will), you can take your site with you.

I need a logo, do you do that?

No, we currently do not offer logo services. But we do have talented partners that can build a logo for you and are more than happy to help you connect.

What about marketing and promoting my website?

We currently do not offer marketing or website promotion. By focusing on website builds we feel we can offer the best product at a competitive price.
